In December 09 we completed renovations to an old lodge on the area of Blaauwkrantz, called Keurfontein (meaning Fountain of Return). We have called this rustic lodge, Leopard Lodge! Our family has owned this property for 30+ years, we use to hike up the mountains and pick the beautiful protea flowers (our national flower) growing on top of the mountain. While at school & college, my brother's and I used to go and stay up there with our friends, braai, shoot a few hares & have fun. Now we want to share this fun with you.
Located in a remote area, but very close to nature, here you will find no electricity and hot water and cooking is done by gas. We are wanting to use this lodge for return clients, clients that are after Klipspringer, these antelope are found on the top of our mountain range and other animals in the area like Waterbuck, Nyala, Bushpig, Kudu, Zebra & Mountain Reedbuck.
The reason for calling it Leopard Lodge, is that the protected Cape Leopard are spotted every now and again, they wander over from the government nature reserve that borders us on top the mountain in this area. .
When you come to Blaauwkrantz, request to spend a night or two at Leopard Lodge! A leopard never changes his spots, you never know who might be waiting there for you..
